Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 ml water
  • 1 tsp salt
Filling
  • 250 g fresh spinach, chopped
  • 200 g frozen peas
  • 200 g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Black pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation of Dough
  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, water, and salt to form a smooth dough. Knead for a few minutes until elastic.
  2. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Preparation of Filling
  1. In a pan, heat olive oil and sauté the onion until translucent.
  2. Add chopped spinach and peas, cooking until the spinach wilts.
  3. Remove from heat and mix in the crumbled feta cheese; season with black pepper to taste.
Assembly and Cooking
  1. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out each piece into a thin circle.
  2. Place a portion of the spinach and cheese mixture on one half of the circle and fold the other half over.
  3. Press the edges to seal.
  4. Cook on a preheated skillet over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve warm with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. For a balanced meal, consider serving with a side salad or yogurt dip. Gozleme can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 3 months.
